Black Walnut slab

I'm building a home bar and have a 7 1/2 ft black walnut slab that I want to use the epoxy/resin on. Does anyone know which brand is the best? Any tips welcomed also. Thanks

It depends on the finish you want.
Give us a plan and we'll give you a product.

On Mesquite I use the wipe on flat because it Seals but looks the same as raw wood.
Some people like the
Pour a cast
Or whatever the inch thick shiny stuff is.

Your intended use also dictates finish.

I always see West Systems as the recommended brand.

West Systems makes excellent epoxies, but they are seldom used as finishes. As Ducksface says, tell us what you want the finish to look like.

I use automotive 2K clear. Works great and is ultra durable. The product I use is from Medallion Refinish/Rubberseal RS-2200. By the way, sounds like it must be a beautiful piece of lumber!

Why a sealer? Most often when you do this, the epoxy is the sealer.

Question: can you use an oil to get the grain to pop prior to an epoxy type coating?

Why not Urethane Spar Varnish? I use it on quite a few wood working projects and it holds up well without water staining.

I've used RAKA epoxy on several table tops with good results. I used their 127 resin and 350 non blush hardener.
The method I used was to pour 1-2ounces on the surface and spread it with a plastic squeegee. Sanded smooth and top-coated with 2 coats of gloss polyurethane. It has stood up well in a break room environment for 6 years with 20 employees.

Envirotex Light supposed to be good stuff. Walmart use to carry it years ago when I was using it thinned down with denatured alcohol to finish RC airplanes.

Get whatever you mount it on FLAT-Level( as in thin shim stock deadasz level) and put it somewhere where zero air movement, AC duct, even people walking by wont stir the air until it sets good. A fly in it will stand out like a space alien and a human hair will look like a cable.
