Pretty! Interested in hearing your thoughts....haven't been able to stomach that one's price...but debated on some cheaper options over the generic roll around stool I have now.

I'm right there with you Logan, the price on this was a big hindrance..... but i threw away 3 different seats from my garage this year. That put me into a longevity frame of mind and not wanting another waiting to fail chair I pulled the trigger after selling my Brembo brake kit I wasn't gonna install.

So this thing is heavy, which was surprising cause it doesn't have a lot of presence visually? Assembly was pleasant not overly complicated like ikea furniture hahah. No complaints well yeah I have some but it's a personal quibble. I don't feel something at this price tag should require assembly or it should be very minor.

Now I've said it I can move on, it's a nice quality piece it feels robust during assembly and the end product is sturdy. I didn't realize how wide it would be? It takes up 4 sqrft where your tray/bench style roller stool is a little over 1 sqrft.

The locking collar to keep the seat height in lock works great, with it released the seat threads very easily and smoothly. It rolls across my cointop floor great. The seat cushion is very cushy and I think that's the part that will grow on me over time. Where your basic harbor freight roller bench seat foam wears out pretty quick. Now at the end of this...... it's a chair right? An expensive chair?!?! Is it better than other chairs? I don't think thats something you get an answer to on the first day. I think months in thst price will justify itself assuming it holds up as well as I think it will.

So does everyone have to go out and get this chair? Meh? If you spend a lot of time in your garage and have had that quintessential seat, that same one we have all had some version of from lowes, HF, home depot, napa yada yada. We all know seat quality craps out quick and they aren't great at being mobile, but they work isn't that enough? There was no ah ha moment with this purchase for me initially, but I think i will get thst over time with it.

Satisfied with purchase

Been on sort if a perfecting kick lately. Saw these bins on amazon 3 assorted sizes....... in red cause I have a problem.

The plan was to use them in just the drawers..... but found a need for them in my toolbox also.

I'd like to do a tool organizer in there as well, but there's so many options it's a bit overwhelming and that one needs to be cost effective for me to bite. Though I would like something better for the socket drawer than your standard spike trays.

Seems dumb to spend time on this stuff, but I've found when its in order and neat I get less aggravated looking for things. Deep down though I want things to have a certain "look" and sometimes that conflicts with practicality?? I'm a bit OCD about things........ not cripplingly so, but it does affect my mood at times.

Also these damn leaky basement pipes!!!!! They got me again!! I want to paint the rest of the garage cieling but I've held off cause I want this plumbing stuff sorted out......

Thanks Mike, so far I've felt my gut reaction was right that overtime it's just gonna hold up better. The cushion ist bottoming out with my 230 lbs bottom beating on it.

Outlaw I've really been considering tool grid, I like the idea of not being held to a certain foot print with multiple different socket holders. For no reason I have multiples of things between the 12 and 6 point sets. So that intrigues me though it's a lot of work on me to set it up where the Amazon option be just buy enough tk hold all the sockets and put them in the drawer.

Busy weekend!

First pic of filler pieces over the sleeve I made to line the roof post up. Adds more structure, but mostly just fleshes out the panels.

All my major welding is now complete, grinding to go but I believe my bracing can come out now.

Major milestone complete. Gotta fill in some stuff for pretty sake, but she is stitched and rosette welded inside and out now.

Bracing out! It's a car...... cleaned out while i was at it. This was a huge step.... sadly it took a year and a week from the day I got them welded in to cut them out.

Hopefully the quarter and floor pan go faster.

There is a local guy here selling them...haven't figured out if he's making them or importing them...based on the shipping crate I wonder if he's importing them?

He had a SS one that I was thinking about getting as a Christmas present for my Dad...it's not listed anymore so going to have to message to see what the story is and if he can get it again

Which ones are you debating?

I've been holding off due to the price also. I guess it's one of those buy once, cry once type of purchases.

Nice job on the old Pontiac sign...it turned out great!

I do too! However the asking price is about (3) Vyper stools! It is big at 5' wide...however it won't be making a home in my garage at that price.
YOWZAAAA!!!!! yeah I couldn't justify that for a neon sign either.

power built seat cushion doesn't look like it would last long to me? that folding creeper is cool though.

Thanks for the comments Brent! I need to run a plug over to it so I can have it on more often.

Well I got rolling on my floor pan patch and found more rust just outside of the patch panel I bought...... in a small fit of rage decided I'd grind the whole floor and make sure the rest is good. Cause they kill you on shipping for these panels.

Harbor freight drum sander is a champ, combined with the crud buddy 2 inch wheel on a right angle grinders and a wire wheel. Knocked this out in a little over and hr.....

Hoping to finish today.

Also bought some tool grid setup..... more on that soon

Just looking at all the work that required is making my body ache. :ROFLMAO:

I spent maybe an entire month of days off and afternoons striping the inside of the 64' cab to bare metal with a wire cup brush on an angle grinder. I didn't think I was ever going to finish.

Glad to hear you haven't found any more surprises. What section is getting replaced?
Passenger front footwell and toeboard is all that needs it so far. I found 2 holes in the back that I think I can bore out and plug weld. I still have the toeboard and foot well on the driver side, but they didn't show any evidence prior to grinding. I knew the Passenger side needed a pan as soon as I got the carpet out 2 years ago. Unfortunate I didn't grind a bit more and discover the toeboard then. Atleast I can ship the toeboard and it not be freight though.....

So my whoregonizing has run rampant..... work has been beating me up lately so I've not felt up to more grinding just yet. I was out of sanding disc's anyway.

So I focus on other topics...... I bought a tool grid kit....... fell in love and than obsessed innthe best way possible. TOOL ORGANIZING!!!!

This was a bit overwhelming at first? Cause I could literally do whatever I wanted...... which is a terrible idea hahaha.

Would I do this in every drawer? No I don't think so. Most of my tools have enough weight that the rubber liner keeps them stationary, but sockets and extensions and drivers? Yeah they move and drives me crazy so for atleast this drawer it makes my OCD happy

Looks awesome. I've considered getting these for some of my drawers. I see a few places carry them...where's the best place to buy them? Or does it even matter?

@jbrentd I bought from 2 sources as it seemed a bit more cost affective?
SPtools sells some kits or just the boards in the large size. I bought the 405 piece kit, though I didnt use the wrench holders from it so it may have been cheaper to buy the boards than source the holders and fasteners from below?

Obsessed Garage sells 6inch by 6 inch boards (with more color options) but also sells pieces individually
not like single socket holds but I can buy a 25 count bag of just one size of socket holders instead of buying several different kits from SPtools. So I bought extra socket holders, lables, and ratchet head holders and handle holders and fasteners from OG.

I dont feel like it was overly expensive compared to trying to buy nice socket trays from OLSA by the time you figure out how many sockets you have... and that doesnt cover storage for extensions or ratchets and breaker bars.

Been a while....... holidays really been messing with my garage time haha. That's a lie it's more work related than holiday end if the year and all that.

Truth be told I've had this welder for an eternity..... early 2000's didn't use it much until recently. I traded a guitar for it so it worked out and I knew I'd need it eventually. As a result I'm still a novice at welding...... but I'm a big believer in learn by do. So it's kind of funny that a floor pan seems way easier after doing a roof swap?

If you are following along there is a trend in my life .... there's the easy way, the hard way... than my way which is usually 3x+ harder than it should be.

I continue to be shocked by the amount of time it takes to do metal work. It seems so simple, and while bot difficult per se, it's tedious to get a panel cut to fit, spot weld it in and massage the panels to keep it all flush as you go.

This one is 70% there, just gotta finish stitching all the way around. Them I have another patch at the edge of the toe board.

Productive day-

Main pan patch completed, toeboard patch in progress. Went quicker this go around now that I'm a bit more familiar with the process, though I didn't realize their was a layer underneath it. It had tk be cleaned and epoxy primed, so I had to stop there. I'll pick back up tomorrow and get it stitched in.

Wife is gonna be outta town so I'm hoping to get the floor primered while she is gone.

Thanks! Big fan of the tool grid setup. Opening that drawer makes me smile..... which is so dumb.

I still want something to help my screwdriver drawer but havnt found what I want yet.

The camaro is a total labor of love, the vision is in my head, but man the process is so slow haha. Small victories at a time and getting the floor primered is just one more to the list.
