Got this 7/16 drive Blackhawk 39997 ratchet, There is a "7" following the 39997, which I interpret as 1947. Took me a little while to figure out the "secret handshake" required to reverse the ratchet but it does seem to be fully operational. Not sure if I will ever find 7/16 drive sockets to go with it.

So how do you reverse it? I would put a 1/16 shim stock bent in an L shape into a 1/2 to 3/8 adapter so you could use it. then just leave the adapter on it. Instant 3/8 drive

To reverse you push the button down and turn the ratchet in the directiion you want to go until it "clicks into place. I am sure a shim would work but since I already have a half dozen or more 3/8 ratchets and at least as many 1/2 drive ratchets I'll just leave it alone.
