Picked this up at a scrap yard. Almost new helicopter jack with eye toward vise stand. Nice " get"

Those are marked "Tailwheel Jack" and are heavy enough to be for B-17 or B-18 bombers, both of which were active in the USAAC period.

This is all academic at this point, unless someone interested in the jacks really cares, but I agree with Provincial. The Air Corps was not dissolved until 1947 when the US Air Force was established as its own service. These could be interwar jacks, but they could easily be WWII jacks and my guess would be that they are, whether the seller knows it or not. The US Army Air Forces was created because of authority issues heading into war, but it was largely an administrative change. They created a HQ and a small Command Group, but 9 out of 10 airmen still belonged to the Air Corps, and lots of things were marked Air Corps. All the Plomb contracts were "AC" order number contracts, just like this one.
