It is a question that I myself would like properly and thoroughly answered.

My feeling is that they are two distinct companies. But, this seems odd to me. If Plomb had to change their name because the Plumb hammer company was upset, how could two Blackhawks exist peacefully?

I know this is a very old thread but I wonder if anyone has more information about these jack stands. For example, what is the load rating? Does model CX-2 mean 2 tons?

I have the same pair. Had them for probably 40 years. Also have 2 Blackhawk SJ-2 floor jacks. That company built really high quality tools. It's a shame the Chinese cheap **** put them out of business.

Recently I purchased a pair of similar jack stands because I don't feel safe using the ratcheting type but the mode number is CX-5. The base is 10" by 12" and the stands can be extended from around 15" to 20". My plan is to use them to support my pickup truck. I guess those model numbers mean something, but since I couldn't find any specs/details on the Internet. I wonder would it be sufficient to support my truck? Do you use your BlackHawk CX-2 to support sedans or trucks? Would appreciate any inputs. Thanks!
