I THINK the new (within the last 2 or so years) Blackhawk stuff is made overseas. It's produced by Stanley and seems in the same category as Husky. The Stanley, Husky, and Blackhawk rotator ratchet are all the same except for color/appearance and they are made in Taiwan. Stanley was in trouble from the FTC a few years ago for falsely advertising country of origin. I believe Stanleys argument was the tool was "finished" in the US but the FTC told them they didn't meet the percent criteria to be labeled made in US.

Older Blackhawk was made by New Britain but they went under in the mid 80's. Stanley purchased the naming rights including the Blackhawk and Husky names. My local Carquest carried Blackhawk and it didn't seem to move very well probably due to their prices. You probably stumbled on some old stock Blackhawk and found a great deal. I have not had a chance to see the new stuff, it seems only to be marketed to the light industrial sector.

Damned shame, that older New Britain stuff was premium!

New Britain was Napa Auto Parts house brand and is still covered by Napa. I think Napa's current tools are from Danher maybe? I had a puller swapped out and the new one was a K-D made for Napa, but still guranteed for life.

The last few tools I bought at NAPA that were NAPA brand were Danaher USA made.

Blackhawk is now made in Taiwan. I emailed Stanley a few months back and asked them where Blackhawk was made and that was their response.
