Thought some of you might want to see this cart I restored. Found it at a swap meet last spring. I was able to find an advertisement for it on the web and according to the ad it was built in 1939 as close as I can figure. It came with a bunch of attachments too. Hopes this works. First time posting pictures. Any information you have about it is appreciated. Don't know if I put this in the right place. Please move it if not.

Did you take any before pictures? Not doubting your work by any means I just thought it'd be neat to see what it looked like before.

Didn't think to take before pictures till I was already started. This is all I have.

Awesome job there. Hopefully you're going to keep it and use it?

I wouldn't have a use for it but that thing would look cool in any shop.

Yes, I am consumed with jealousy, as often is the case on here. Even the pieces that I actually DO own probably will never look that good.

There was a similar cart in PA last spring or winter that I wanted. $300 or so, but shipping would be killer and I just was not up for the drive. <sigh?

Beautiful, beautiful work there, sir.

Thanks for the compliments. It was in pretty good shape when I got it. Had a second paint job on it and several dents from normal use but not too bad. It is a ten ton unit. I think the the advertisement said it was $195 new in 1939 with attachments. The pump was an enerpac, apparently replaced sometime during it's life but looks just like another blackhawk that I bought new in the seventies. Resealed everything and it works as it's supposed to. Haven't had a use for it yet. Anyone else seen one like it?

Those old cabinets have some **** lines, with the graceful radiused corners! Fine job on the resto. I know square corners are efficient, but lack the old style.

Very nice cart. I just picked up a 3 wheel cart similar except is open and has 3 shelves and yellow in color. Like the add. There were no tools with it so I was planning on sandblasting and repainting. Luckily they are made with about 10 Ga steel, so the rust spotscan be easy to fill.

Very art deco looking and would be an awesome addition to any shop especially one that could utilize that equipment. ******* in the wind, but if you ever decide to sell keep me in mind. :)

thanks again for the comments. Brad54, sorry to take so long to answer your question on the nameplate, haven't been on here for awhile. The plate didn't require any real restoration. Just some careful cleaning and polishing. This cabinet was in pretty good shape overall when I got it. Did the bodywork it needed, primed, painted and resealed the ram and it works like it's supposed to. A friend did the logos and the stripes in vinyl. I like the old shop and service station stuff and pick it up when I can.

Wow, thank you for posting the vintage ad for the same cart I purchased a few years ago. It didn't come with any of the parts but I use it without. The finish is in okay condition for its age. It's nice to know what the holes were for.
