Blackhawk R159 cylinder questions

I got a small Porto-Power shop press that uses the R-159 cylinder. It didn't leak and extended but didn't retract so I thought the spring was broken. Opened and the spring seems fine but part 3 (spring adjusting screw) wasn't screwed in the top of the piston but was sitting in the bottom of the spring. The marks on the plunger cup retaining marks make me think I'm not the first in it.

1) The piston corrosion is much worse than I'd have expected at the bottom. It is too bad to rebuild with?

2) Are there assembly instructions? Part 4 the plunger plug looks like it fits into the spring adjusting screw 3. I tried screwing the plunger plug in and it didn't turn easily, so need to clean that out.

Thanks!

Just looking at it, maybe the corrosion isn’t an issue since the fluid is behind the piston. The corrosion is above the seals.

The only way I see the screws interlocking is to put screw 3 in fully, then interlock and screw back.
