Ordered one. Not to often that I feel like I get a good deal from Grainger. Thanks

That's what mine said and they emailed me about a half hour later cancelling the order.

I got an email saying they are backordered, but nothing saying my order was cancelled. That will probably happen in the next day or two, I'd imagine.

Just checked availability in my zip code area and it says "in stock and ready to ship today" and would arrive at my house by May 5. I don't want any, just checked for the heck of it. I don't use SAE often enough to spend the $$ even though killer deal.

Typical Grainger order was cancelled. Very Lame. I checked availability again and said it was ready to ship so I ordered again. I am sure it will get canceled also.

Sent an email to Grainger about this, saying I was disappointed that even after getting the cancellation email, they were STILL listed as in stock and ready to ship. And asked if their recommended replacement item, Proto ratcheting splined wrenches (1WNB7), was available at the same price that the Blackhawk wrenches were listed.

They said sure! And I got free shipping too. YMMV, but I am happy with it! Still Taiwan made though, unfortunately.

Same here. I'm not sure about the free shipping though.

I got the same deal. I do not care for spline type wrenches, so I'm currently in an email debate with a Grainger representative over a replacement set. Going to see what I can get that will make ME happy for the inconvenience.

I own both types (Blackhawk set and the Proto spline) and I will probably end up getting a set of the Proto's to replace the Blackhawks just because the spline drive works so well.

I have very little first hand experience with the spline drive. Maybe I'm just stubborn but I always thought they were a little gimmicky.

ive got a set of gearwrench and used them over a 12pt socket for some 12pt bolt heads and they slipped. thought i may have needed a 3/8 instead of a 10mm, but a 12pt 10mm worked flawlessly.

They are made to be either metric or SAE, so you shouldn't have any slippage with aquality wrench. I'm not sure if gearwrench advertises theirs as "universal", but they definitely aren't.

i have a std and metric set. both spline. package said they were designed to fit 6 12 star spline and square patterns. ive used them on other stuff, but on a 12 pt head, the spline slipped bad.

Checked availability and it said in stock ready to ship, receive it by Friday the 9th. So I submitted my order and instantly got a email from grainger saying it was on backorder. I guess I will be on the phone with them Monday. What a pain in the ***.

Well I think they are going to come through. If I understand their email right they are substituting their item number 1WNB7 for the ones posted in this thread that are now discontinued and out of stock. We shall see Thursday.

EDIT- I should add your experience may vary, this is just the deal they offered me. seems some people are getting free shipping on their substitute orders where I did not.
