I got this awesome jack today. It does need a little TLC, but for being over 50 years old I think is in good shape. It does need a new link for the release valve and one wheel has a chip.

Nice jack!!!

I'm in the middle of rebuilding my Blackhawk 2ton jack. It's amazing how much nicer these old heavy duty jacks are than the el cheapo's i've used up until now.

Good luck on fixing it up, if I'm not mistaking that linkage is a pretty hard part to find, pretty sure there is a guy or two on this forum with a blackhawk with missing linkage. A few really good guys on here that really know their jacks.

Yep, give Hiball a shot, might try sending him a PM.

There is also a member here that is parting out an older model S-4.

That's a nice looking jack. I hope you're able to get it going again.

Thanks CRTDI for the links and the PM. I found this jack on the local craigslist. An old garage selling off their equipment. I'm sure this jack saw plenty of heavy use as I saw a lot of truck parts laying around when I was there. No leaks, but will probably get a seal kit anyway and some paint.

I think a common 1/4" drive universal adapter can be welded up in place of the link you re missing.

As promised I've restored this jack to its former glory. Compare the "before" pictures with these "after". I thought you all might enjoy seeing these to inspire the saving of these great vintage tools. I was able to get a new link kit from a local jack supply place, and new casters too, though pricey still well under 200 dollars to fix this bad boy up. Enjoy.
