Blackhawk SJ-1 load rating?

I just acquired a trashed out Blackhawk SJ-1 at a fleamarket which I will attempt to rebuild.

I'm wondering about the load rating. This jack is rated at 1 1/4 tons. That seems pretty low for this jack. It's built like a tank. How come the rating is only 2500 lbs?

Also, one of the side plates is somewhat bent. Is this something that has to be replaced?

Thanks

It's rated correctly. They are built like tanks and meant to last a lifetime with a pump rebuild here and there and they are taken care of. The rating comes from the pump. The frame is probably rated for 10 tons compared to my cheap 3ton craftsman frame. But the pump is rated for 1 1/4 tons.

What do you mean by "somewhat bent"? A picture would really help to show how bad of shape it is in.
