Blackhawk SJ2 Floor Jack with Craftsman badge
Based on my reading of several posts, I believe I've picked up a Blackhawk SJ2.
Some of the other threads told about these jacks being imports sold by Sears. However, I have found in two places where it is stamped "Made in USA."
It is the typical green/blue metallic paint color.
After searching for quite a while, I couldn't find an answer to the behavior it shows:
1) I added new fluid to the appropriate level and tried to purge any air left in the system multiple times.
2) When the handle is pumped, the lift arm goes up a half inch but returns immediately
3) I pulled the lift arm up about 3/4 of the way (with the handle release tightened) and the arm stayed up. I then pumped the handle and the lift arm continued to raise up. It stayed there for a few minutes before it slowly went down on its own.
4) Trying again, it did it again. After reaching 3/4 height I loosened the handle and the jack went down slowly on its own. I put it to 3/4 again, loosened the handle "wide open" and it went down quickly on it's own.
For the kicker....after all this there was not any new oil leak to be found
Suggestions?
