Hi folks,
i just picked up this Blackhawk at a yard sale for $10.00. I will probably keep it for my own use.I also figured GJ would be a good place to start my research.

1- What year/age is this box?
2- I would like to remove and clean/lubricate the drawer slides. It seems that the black clip on the slide needs to be removed in order to remove the drawers. Is this correct? How do I remove the clip?
3- Any other info regarding this box would be appreciated.

I'll try to post some photos.
Thanks guys.

I can only tell you that you use a small screwdriver to carefully pry outward on the clip then slide the drawer out. That clip has a "tang" that stops the drawer from being removed until pulled outward as I described.

I don't know how old it is, but I have a matching roll cab.

Pry out the rearward (in your pic) end of the black clip with a small screwdriver. Easy to do, but don't get too aggressive or the clip can go flying.

By the drawer clip it shows that it was a Waterloo built box and being labeled as Blackhawk New Britain Conn. it was part of New Britain Tool family as in NAPA tool supplier. I Would say early sixties before Litton Industries bought the brands because they added Litton Ind. to labels. Back then New Britain was sold through NAPA and Blackhawk was sold to anybody else but all the products were 100% the same other than name.
