BlackHawk Torque indicator

i bought this a few years ago on a whim because the price was right. Can't argue about $5 too much.

I have not been able to figure out how it works. I can't seem to find instructions online.

Anyone know how it works? any idea when they were made?

Hah i figured it out. A screw had come loose under the dial and it was not reading. took apart the dial and put the screw back in and buttoned it up and now it works.

so do these dial types need to be calibrated?

Yes they need to be calibrated. Usually there is an access plate that is remove and the adjustment is accessable under the plate.
