I was leaning towards that answer also, but seems like it would be hard to hear a squeak or rattle over the sound of a ******** large enough to accomplish that.

It looks like an air powered jack. Probably to bounce the car, not "vibrate" it. It would come in handy to finds squeeks and rattles.

hey thats pretty cool. i need one of those for my toyota solara. it has a wicked rattle up front. it only does it at low speeds 0-40. i can't replicate the rattle manually.
