Hi all so had a great working Bj-2 for well over 20 years. Stopped lifting quickly and was not holding well. So opened it up found the cup in pieces. That's all I changed and put it back together.

So now it seems its weeping a little at the cylinder. Guess you need to use some silicone on assembly?

Also, it pumps well half way up then feels like you pump and its really not raising fast at all. I attached a video.

Any help is appreciated.

I assume you are leaking from the bottle part that holds the fluid. If it is anything like most bottle jacks, whether loose or in a floor jack, it is held by a flange at the top of the piston cylinder. The torque spec is very high to stop it from leaking. It is a dry fit with little contact surface. Later Hein Werner jacks called for Loctite 515 as a sealant. As far as it not going up easily , all the way, have you checked fluid level and bled the air out of the system?
