When I picked these up at a sale I had no idea they were repurposed hoof rasps. The quality of these is amazing, they fit in your hand and feel like a Heller would.
I guess back in the day it wasn't so easy or too expensive to run to the store and get a pair so just make them if you had the skill.

That's awesome. Anyone that can take raw steel or repurpose a chunk of bar into that is a rockstar in my book. Those are display keepers for sure.

Beautiful piece of workmanship, there were a lot of talented blacksmiths in those days with decades of experience.

Very nice. Now, I know what to do with an used hoof rasps that are past their prime.
