Hi guys - I have a small garage (about 14' x 20') with a blacktop driveway. I would like to epoxy my floors next summer, but I think that my floors are blacktop. It appears that there were concrete floors in it, but the concrete in the garage was blacktopped over once the driveway was finished. It may very well be some other substrate as well (it looks like a cross between blacktop and concrete if that makes any sense).
There are also filled spots with a tar-type substance. I know that this tar-type substance will need to come out before any painting...would concrete repair work for this?
Does anybody know any methods to test to see what my floor is? If it is blacktop, can I epoxy over this, or will it secrete too much oil for the epoxy to stick? Any help is appreciated!
Thanks,
Rick Trushel
