Hi,
I have an older Dewalt 708 12" Sliding compound Miter Saw.
I need to change the blade. I think it is the original one!

Two questions:
1. What is a good general purpose blade. I would prefer one that is better for detail work than framing work at this point The saw only comes out occasionally these days.

2. Can I add a laser or bright light/shadow attachment to this saw? While I have the blade off, I am thinking about it. Do I need to have a shiny blade for this work? Will a painted blade work?

Diablo / Freud Cross and Rip cut 12" blade will be a excellent choice, good price, good cuts, easy to find.

As for the laser or shadow line hack, check this out,

I did basically the same thing to my Makita, except I integrated mine into the original laser switch. Its awesome.

The LED is not affected by the blade other than needing mounted evenly on both sides.
