Yeah it was still dicey. I gotta spend some time and read up on making a proper fence.

It is as simple as two pieces of plywood, glued at a 90 degree angle. Just clamp it in place, or use screws through existing holes. Sure, you can get creative and custom fit something, but when giving up a touch of capacity doesn't matter, it can be very simple

Most simple thing in the world, use what ever dimensions suite the task at hand. Glue and screw together then remove the screws when the glue is dry. Screw this to your saw with the existing holes in the fence, or drill extra holes as needed. Flip the little lever down and adjust the depth of cut to just deep enough to cut your stock in half. Do not cut the table all of the way through!
