Anybody use Blair spot-weld cutters or rotabroach for cutting spot welds? They get great reviews and are USA made.

I have the rotabroach kit but labeled Blue Point. It is simply freaking awesome. My Snap on guy sold something like 5 more sets after some friends saw them in action at my shop. I use them primarily for drilling holes in sheet metal for installing spoilers, roof racks and drilling holes in cargo van doors for running wire into them for aftermarket power lock wires. Even with just a 12v lithium ion craftsman nextec drills they go through like butter. Get them you will be glad you did

I have the Red Blair kit. I've never used them for cutting steel only cutting aluminum. They won't last long if you over speed them on steel. Use low speed and cutting oil to cool the teeth to extend their use.

The harbor freight ones are actually not bad. Though the blair ones will last a bit longer, I wouldn't say not to buy the HF ones. My tool guy charges $15 for a pack of three (actually six because they are reversible) blair ones. Harbor Freight has only one in a pack for $6 by me. What's odd between the two is that the HF ones all come with the arbor while the replacement blairs only have the cutting bits.

I even use a die grinder and air hammer instead of cutters. They last ALOT longer. Here's where I'm at with my '72 Toyota Landcruiser FJ40. No stranger to the spot weld.:willy_nil
