Thinking of purchasing a NEW blast cabinet.
Just wondering what the guys on here are using and your opinions of the units.
I have been looking at TP Tool cabinets.
I would welcome any comments, thoughts and / or ideas on blast cabinets.
Thanks,
Jeff

Trinco or Econoline are also nice units. I don't like the TP tools as much because they are just screwed together rather than welded like the Trinco or Econoline.

I have a TP pretty sure it's the 970, can't remember.... It's big enough that I can fit a door or fender from a Chevelle if that's any consolation! Love the thing use it quite often.

I have a Trinco 46x40sl split level with the upgraded dust collector, works really well and parts are easily available also love the fact that the top splits open to put big stuff in.

I went the cheap way - bought a Harbor Freight cabinet on sale, used a lot of automotive seam sealer, then replaced the pickup and gun with a TP tools upgrade kit. It works well for less than $300 out of pocket.

I made mine. Kind of redneck-ish, but for all the more I use it..

Made from OSB, 2X4's, plexiglass, and sweat.

Has a 100 watt flood light inside and a vacuum port that I hook to a bucket/dust collector powered by a cheap shop vac.

Oh and since I am stupid cheap, the "gloves" are sleeves from a flannel shirt. I just wear cheap welding gloves when blasting.

Really like my TP 960. It's the perfect size for my use, but if I ever want it bigger, they make an expansion.

I have two TP Tools blast cabinets. I use them hard in my powdercoating shop. They are very good quality and last very well in a commercial use environment.

x2 on Antique Engine's comment up there, but my shop only uses one. I have a used SkatBlast 5 footer I found on CL for a terrific price -- it even came with a Baldor-motored vacuum unit. Next to building my 7-foot oven, it was without a doubt the single best investment I've ever made in my business. Gone are the days of suiting up and draggin the big *** pot blaster out into the yard, spreading out the tarp, gathering up the used media and straining it to refill the hopper every few minutes .... well, you see where I'm going with this.
