In the market for a blast cabinet. My "shop" is a two car garage that holds a car when I'm not working. At first I was set on a bench top model because of space but now I'm thinking about a free standing model. I know if I went with a bench top model I will of course need more work room for the next project. Maybe a large benchtop model that I can build a dedicated stand for? I've been building a bike over the last few months and will be using the cabinet to strip some parts prior to powdercoating. I prefer American made. Even a cheaper unit that requires some user upgrades is fine I just want it to last.

Theres a few in my area just $500 plus commercial units. Do you own one? If so what brand?
A Dayton unit and another slightly smaller stand up, but the name escapes me now.
I might be overthinking it I guess. I've been looking for a long time and have read a lot of bad reviews. From every manufacturer I could find.

I have the Harbor Freight cabinet with the TP tools upgrade gun in it. For the money it's really not a bad cabinet.

Look at their build it your self plans and follow their recommendations for CFM and sizing the gun hardware.
Mine, with Husky branded Campbell Hausfeld 2-stage compressor.

Heres a harbor freight one i modified .i added a injection system on pick up tube to fire glass bead straight up into gun at 150psi.
added new better gloves and gun.
added cheap halgon 300watt light .
added switchs and outlets for vacuum and light and ADDED a ******** and speed control to help get glass beads back to bottom .
made window removable with wing nuts ,so can replace tare offs with plastic window cover.
also added cheap foot pedal and made a cyclone for dust collector.
The cabinet sits way to low so i blocked it up with 2x4s , much more comfortable
to stand in front and work with out bending down and cramping ur back up
I have about $365.00 in to it .

I am looking for other ideas for lighting in my home made cabinet. I have two flood lights, one in each corner. For some reason the one on the left burns out quite often from vibration. A 4' fluorescent light across the top is out because I made a tapered air inlet to wash air across the window. Has anyone tried any of the floods that are CFL? The ones I looked at did not appear to have the tough outer glass that a par 38 has. I have been considering a recessed can type fixture on either side of my air inlet using LED bulbs and protecting the lenses with a piece of plexi-glass.

No, I bought the basic shell in two pieces and finished it using parts from TP Tools. I made an extension for the cabinet to do long items.

We just bought a Trinco cabinet a month or so ago,I'm really liking it. Master model 36" came with the Vac system also. the have bench models also USA MADE.or at least assembled.
I don't know where your are in Cen Cal., but we picked ours up at RayCo in Modesto, they have a store in Turlock also.

The Lab where I worked had one of those. Looked to be well made. I was going to use it as a pattern to build one before I came across the one I got.

It arrived via FedEx while I was out. The box was whole but pretty beat up. The door was broken completely off (broken rivets). The outside screen is completely scratched(outside, so its NOT where the screen protector is at). Couple of dents a dings that don't really bother me. The unit appears to be well made though. Shipping weight of the package was 60+ lbs. Thick weather stripping and plexiglass door. Inside grate is pretty heavy duty too.
I'm in no way posting this to bash the company (not until I hear back from them anyway). Just wanted to share because I couldn't find any info on this company while I was looking for a cabinet. I called and sent an email including photos to Ian. I'm sure I'll hear back from him tomorrow. Feedback on Ebay was flawless so we'll see.

Cheap cardboard packaging ? That's how I got mine so cheap in the clearance section at Summit. The box was about destroyed and was marked down to $75. I had to bend a few corners back in place but was worth the price.

What gun did you go with ?
I also blocked mine up with some 2x4 stock. edit: I just went back and looked at one of my pic of it, I don't dump sand inot a bucket on top of the dolley, I just store the buckets of sand on the dolley underneath the blast cabinet so they are easier to roll out.
