Growing up our neighbors lived in a cabin without power or plumbing. He did have a wind generator and radio.
I found out someone has one for sale, so I looked at it yesterday. I thought especially younger people who've never heard of Parris-Dunn (Iowa) wind generators would like to see one. This was stored inside, all complete, and if in cosmetically better condition and price less I'd want it.
Interesting design, propeller is about 6 ft. across and has a speed governor so as rpm gets too high it angles up. Generator looks like an old car/tractor generator. Cloth covered two wires are heavy, I'm guessing 8 gauge. It's mounted on a tripod maybe 5ft high, it would go on a roof. It charged batteries. It has a Philco console vacuum tube radio that runs on 1.5 volts!
