Has anyone built a Sandblasting room?. Ive been looking at the Norton blast rooms to put in 1 of my bays but might be cheaper to build my own.

If I were to do it, that's exactly what I would use, shipping container, that has to be the easiest, quickest and cheapest way.

One of the guys here in Canada bought one of those rag and tube car-port shelters and has it set up in his yard for abrasive blasting. He lays a tarp on the ground so clean-up is little more than picking up the corners and gathering the sand and other material into the middle of the tarp.

buddy of mine is a pro blaster - and he did exactly that for years. Upgraded to a cheap carport eventually before moving up to a concrete block room...

I have heard of people making one out of wood and then for a floor they have expanded metal so the abrasive media can fall down and get used over again. If you only need it for occasional use I think that would be a fairly inexpensive way to do it. If you will be using it all the time then I would go with concrete block.

Check Don Long's posts. He built one out of a container. "The big party garage".
