I am getting ready to apply Epoxy-Coat to a three car garage. I can rent either a Blastrac or Edco floor grinder. Does anyone have a recommendation on which to use?

I was thinking about using the 11" version since it would be a little more mobile. I know it will take longer to cover the entire area than with the 22" version. I have a ledge that's just under 36" wide at the rear of the garage I will have to prep and my thought was the 11" would be easier for tight spots.

Thanks
Kevin

Sure wish you would get some replies as I need to do the same to my 38'x22' garage and don't have a clue which to get.

That makes two of us. :) Right now I am leaning toward the 11" Edco simply because it's lighter and easier to move around. I ordered by materials from Epoxy-Coat this week so prep is under way.

It's important to get the diamond grinders and not abrasives. Machines I dunno

Make sure the 11" is not a high speed grinder, if your not used to operating one, it will really pull to right and if your not careful it can and will gouge your floor leaving deep swirl marks that will require filling, the 22" Edco is much easier to control while grinding a larger area, you can use a hand grinder for small tight areas and edge work, if you can't find one with a vac port on a dust shroud, have your buddy hold your shop vac hose as close to where your grinding the floor as possible for dust control....good luck.
