Blending epoxy in my garage

I am putting epoxy in my garage in stages, due to space constraints, and finances. I just finished my second portion, and noticed that the epoxy flaked where it was placed over the first area. I tried to have a delineated line, but there was some overlap between the first and second stages. The forst stage had cured already, which I think contributed to it.

When I go to do my next portion, how can i 'scuff' or 'prep' the old epoxy so that the new epoxy will stick and I can overlap it?

Rough it up with 120 grit sandpaper. It may be best to put some duct tape down first to delineate the edge before you sand and then pull up the tape after the epoxy is applied, but before you apply the flakes. Just keep in mind that epoxy edges do not blend in like paint does on a wall, but the flakes may help disguise it some.

Wipe any sanded area with denatured alcohol to remove any dust.
