Good morning.

I’d like to bolt **** hinges to a 24’ piece of 4” square tubing on 24” centers.

I’ll be attaching 12’ H-beams for a solar project.

Everything is hot dipped so I’d rather not weld.

Can anyone recommend a type of structural bolt that takes up like a drywall expanding anchor for this application?

Many thanks

Even those nut-certs are nice I don’t think they are structural fasteners (I am no expert). You may want to verify the load capacity will be enough for your needs

Weld threaded rod to the tubes, then go over the welds with cold galvanizing compound. They sell hot dipped galvanized threaded rod.

How are you going to protect the holes that you drill in the galv tubing?

Wind load on the vertical side of the conex would be around 7000 lbs at 70 mph. From memory and if I calculated correctly (unlikely).

I’ll protect the holes with cold galvanize or if ambitions, melt a zinc stick on them.

Mono bolts are very good there like big pop rivets or
daisy bolts they open up inside the box like a you got it a daisy
the only thing is you will have to buy or hire a gun to use this type of fitment

I’ve not purchased the piece yet. I’m guessing 0.25 is as thick as I’ll find locally.

Sliding backing plates down 12’ seems impractical.

Can you through bolt?
What are the hinges supporting and what type of hinge?
They are semi crude, but they make good hot dipped galvanized gate hardware long enough to go through telephone poles.
