My electrical contractor began work today. So far all I have in my metal shop is the breaker box and my four outlet boxes and already I wish I'd done something different. I am going to partially cover the walls with 1/2" BC plywood. I already wish I'd have done that first then had the flexible conduit and outlet boxes just mounted to the plywood rather than hidden behind it. I didn't so here goes my two questions.
Does anyone know if the Blindmark xt box locating tool will work properly with 1/2" plywood?
Second question, they installed the plastic outlet boxes flush with the metal studs. That will leave the boxes flush with the back of the plywood and not covering the box cutout edges of the plywood when plates are installed. There will be an electrical inspection but shouldn't the box protrude a 1/2" from the studs to cover the plywood edges?
