I picked up a IR T30 compressor (2340 pump), it had a burnt motor and the pump to tank copper line was Severely bent/crimped.
The heads of the pump have blistered paint. it I scape off the blisters, there is grey paint under, so not blistered to the raw metal. almost like there was 2 coats of paint and the top one blistered. THe blistering is only on the cylinders and gets heavier at the tops.
The blisters/paint is hard and brittle and can be scraped off with the finger nail.
I "assumed" the discharge line got damaged/kinked and it overheated/overloaded the compressor, burning out the motor.
I picked the whole thing up dirt cheap, as the pump turned freely, the oil was not burnt and the tank was in pristeen condition.
I have replaced the motor and run it for 5 min and all seams ok.
Has anyone else seen a compressor with this blistering?
