Block coating questions

My garage is concrete block walls and a roughly 4.5 inch slab on top of more courses of block (the foundation I presume). The west and south above slab blocks are painted – the north and east (which is within a few feet of the property line) are not.

Under the slab, which is what my questions are about . . . on the north, south and west the blocks are covered by dirt and not coated. On the east there are several courses of block exposed and not coated.

FWIW, the garage was built in the late 90s and aside from a couple small cracks inside on the floor the garage is in very good condition from what I’ve seen.

I currently have some of the dirt on the west moved away (removing the remnants of a creeping and smelly ivy-type thing) and I’m wondering if, before I replace the dirt, I should put a Drylok kind of coating on the blocks?

The west and east would likely be the only sides that would ever get coated. The south has a concrete pad just outside the garage that I doubt I will ever touch. The north, where the car door is, could get an entry pad. The point/question here being – would having part of the under slab blocks coated and others not coated create an issue with uneven absorption and drying?

Thank you

If there's any chance of standing water or foliage I'd do it.
