I have a few year old shop with bare block walls and exterior red brick . The walls are in excellent condition.

Can the block interior seams be filled and then the walls textured and painted?

What is the proceedure?

Or will it be necessary to put up 2x4 studs and drywall sheets first?

The building does not have any plumbing and I am not adding any additional electrical through the walls.

Thanks

bare block walls

I'm facing the same problem in my new shop, I'm painting the walls inside and out, with block seal, then white high quality interior latex inside, (trusses and roof sheathing too) and top shelf exterior latex on the outside in leiu of a cementious coating (stucco) outside. The best bid I got for stucco was $7000.00 for the outside only. The total material cost for the block seal and paint will be less than $1800.00, I already own a commercial airless spray rig, and my labor is cheap. (will work for beer...)
I'm located in south west Florida, so high humudity is an issue. My house is stucco'ed and mold and mildue is a constant battle, as well as cracking and peeling of the cheep s##t paint the last owner used to dress the house for a quick sale. When the shop is done, the next job on the hit parade is to strip all the paint and stucco off the house and do it up the same way as the shop...RED
