I am renovating my 20x20 attached garage, and want to go with floor tiles, rather than epoxy. I'll have pinball machines along the two side walls, a 72" Kegerator, and arcade machines along the wall straight ahead of the door, and will keep one car directly in the middle.
I've settled on BlockTile from Sam's Club, but they have two varieties, perforated and modular.
Perforated: http://www.samsclub.com/sams/floor-...paign=rr&sn=ClickCP&campaign_data=prod4660075
Modular: http://www.samsclub.com/sams/blockt...paign=rr&sn=ClickCP&campaign_data=prod8690107
The perforated tiles have a cool two tone look, but they also look like they would allow liquids to seep down under the tile. So I assume that any spilled beer, dripped oil, or other liquids would end up on the concrete under the tiled floor where they can't be properly cleaned. I haven't looked at any of these tiles in person yet, but am I correct in my understanding? If so, the the solid "modular" tiles seem better for my garage.
On the other hand, I have an outdoor hot tub on a concrete patio, and I think the perforated BlockTiles would be good to put under it to allow more air to dry the wooden base of the hot tub after rainstorms, to help prevent the wood from rotting prematurely.
Am I off base on any of this?
Thanks!
