Just curious if any of you guys know of companies that I could talk to about doing a blower door test at my home to find any air leaks? I am about an hour west of the Twin Cities.

I've done quite a few Google searches but am coming up dry!

Thanks in advance!

How about contacting your local utility company? Sometimes they have energy savings programs that include these. I thought we had a tight home till we did the blower door test with an heat camera. Found a lot of holes, and most were fairly easy to fix. Good luck.

That was one of the first places I started, but my electric and propane companies currently do not have programs like that unfortunately :(

A company called "Dr. Energy Saver" did mine. Came out hooked everything up showed me where all the leaks were then tried selling me on $5k worth of stuff. I fixed everything for about $600 which included paying an insulation company to do over garage ceiling which was not included in the bid from the above company. I have to admit the guy they sent out was a good salesman. I sell cars for a living and he would have had me if I wasn't in the know.

What? Only $5k! "Dr. Energy Saver" quoted me over $10K! But that's OK, I was only using them for info - never had any real intentions of buying any services from them. Total Scam. Then I purchased a FLIR E4 ($1,000) infra-red camera (crappy 80x60 screen resolution) and hacked it to the $4,000 E8 (320x240 screen resolution) using info from here: http://www.eevblog.com/forum/testgear/flir-e4-thermal-imaging-camera-teardown/. Warning: If you can't figure out what the instructions are telling you to do, then do not attempt - unless you're really determined and willing to risk losing $1,000.
