I need to blow in some insulation in my attic, into a wall and in my garage.

Curious on what you guys would recommend?

I know Owens Corning sells a fiberglass product, but I also notice a product called GreenFiber. Seems to be a recycled paper product. One downside I've read out it is that it creates a ton of dust.

Open to any other products that are availble.

Everybody talks about how blown in is a DIY project. Do the math on the number of bails/bundles that you may need to purchase, haul, and use. All of the blown in stuff is dusty. I had approximately 3800 sq ft blown in in my barn. Professionally done. It took them 4 hours with a box truck full of material, hoses, and a hopper. Would have taken me 2-3 days from purchase of the material to completion. $ very well spent.

I'm kind of thinking that.

I paid to have mine done as well. There equipment is just SO much better than the rental units at HD or wherever. Getting it into your walls is going to take a little more effort to do it right.

I like the cellulose but some guys prefer fibreglass. After all my resarch, I went with cellulose but I think it's 50/50.

I went with 18" of blown-in cellulose in my shop attic.
I had the pros do it.

I couldn't be happier with both the insulating value and the sound suppression.

I priced it out and it was actually cheaper to pay someone to come and do it. I opted for that!
