Okay, first of all, the correct answers are Ford, Kimber, Guinness and OS X. :D

You guys are way to political on here.

Sorry, kiddo, but if you give a rat's *** about the world you live in, EVERYTHING is political.

When you spend a dollar, you're casting a vote... You're saying to the world that out of all the other choices I had, this is where I want my dollar to go.

Everybody knows that our elections are a bunch of media-hyped BS where people cast their votes based on the color of a candidate's necktie. What the world REALLY pays attention to is where you spend your money - they look at where your dollar goes, and make adjustments because they want your dollar to go to them. Where and what you spend your money on has more of an effect on the world than anything else you do.

Now... back to your topic...
I'm not going to give you a truckload of **** for buying blue point tools, but I'm not going to give you the "Atta Boy!" that you seem so desperately to want. You asked this group before your purchase, and your were given a good number of what members thought were better alternatives.

In my opinion, a better option would've been to put together a set with SK socket sets and wrenches. I say that for several reasons: I like SK tools, the quality is great, their ratchets are among the strongest, your $300 would've gone farther, AND they're made in the US.

If you're happy with your BP tools and you don't care where your money's going, then so be it.

Simple answer I said before; enjoy your tools and don't worry what anyone thinks of them. Course you probably should not ask opinions either in that case I suppose.

I know I would likely never ask an opinion regarding the quality of tools I buy, but that is just me. Just enjoy your tools and you will do just fine!

So I guess it is safe to say let the flaming begin but I really needed this set so I am prepared for whatever you have to say about Blue Point

I would say you are not interested in anything thats said unless it's positive. I say if your happy with your purchase then thats great. It will more than likely last you a lifetime.

Everyone who regularly posts here has strong opinions and as I have learned early on, is not afraid to express how they feel. The best thing to do is sift through the opinions and take the advice you feel is sound.

I agree, if you have already purchased or absolutely decided to purchase a specific tool then I wouldn't ask anyones advice. If I haven't purchased and intend to make a decision based on others experiences with the tool then I may ask for advice as I did with my lathe purchase (and glad I did).

The key is to never ask for advice or props for a tool that is already purchased unless you are prepared to hear both the negative and the positive.

Alright, we all know the real answer is Chevrolet, Colt/Springfield, Yuengling, and Windows XP.

That taken care of...

Bman, stop whining. If you're happy with the tools, then be happy with them. But don't complain about people's differing opinions of them. You asked on an open forum for advice about a tool set you wanted to buy, people gave you that advice based on their experience with the tools, and suggested alternatives to help you save more money, the fact that they were made in the USA alternatives was just icing on the cake. The people on this forum have influenced my buying decisions plenty of times, even on things I didn't ask about, but read someone elses query, and the resulting advice. While we would all like to say that we only buy American tools, truth is, it's impossible. I have yet to find a power tool still made in this country, and I've got some foreign made stuff in my box as well. Wrenching is just a hobby of mine, and I can't always afford to buy the American stuff, so I buy the cheaper alternative, if only as a place filler for now, till I'm able to afford the better stuff. But when I want to save money, I buy the cheap stuff. If the American made stuff is cheaper, why wouldn't I buy it? There would be no reason for me not to buy American if it was cheaper than the foreign competition, it just wouldnt make financial sense. And I know you'll probably give me **** about this post, but what else can I expect in a country that allows us Freedom of Speech? After all, it really protects the things you don't want to hear, doesn't it?

another one of you fuckers.

And here I thought we were having a mature, adult conversation. What are you, 15? You wanted tools on the cheap, you asked advice. It was given, you didn't take it, even though you would have saved money, because you have a preconceived notion that all things craftsman are bad, even though, while the quality of some of their items is decreasing, most of their stuff is still excellent. When other brands were discussed, such as SK, you ignored that, because it would have been too much of a hassle for you to buy them, whereas the snap on truck was easy. Fine. But don't complain when people have differing opinions, it's childish, and does not help the situation. Even though people have disagreed with your decision, for the most part, they have been nothing but nice and helpful to you. Some on this board are more opinionated than others, and everyone is entitled to their opinion, including you. If you feel you made a good decision with buying the blue point, then by all means, don't feel bad about it, but don't whine when others, who told you exactly how to save more money on the tools you needed, say you didn't.

23 going on 14 I see... If you really liked your BluePoint stuff so much you wouldn't be jumping down the throat of anyone who says it isn't exactly what you seem think it is (or maybe what the dealer told you it was)--Snap-On quality at import price. Keep sippin' the Koolaid.

That said, nobody even cares if you love your new set or hate it (actually on the contrary I think everyone on here is happy if someone buys and enjoys their tools). It's the childish attitude, foul language, lack of communication skills, and ignorance of stated facts that has everyone pilling in for the opportunity to take a whack at one of your posts (myself included :lol_hitti).

Well, If you didn't want anybody's input then why did you post your review in the "General Tool Discussion" forum?

The "Product and Vendor Reviews" forum is for reviews.

That isn't how a discussion forum works, anything you say can and will be commented on.

The thing about it is ... most of the people that walk into Wal-Mart, Home Depot or Sears, have the same attitude as bman123.
