BluBird Fast Fix Rubber Hose: Beta Testing Ad

Hi, all.

BluBird is back with another product to extend its range.
You've all supported us in testing and making both BluBird and Oil-Shield better than anything else on the market.

And now it's the time for Fast Fix.

It shares the same ultra-light, super-strong and ultimate cold-weather flexibility characteristics with the other BluBirds, but it is now field-repairable.

For if you happen to damage your hose (would have to try really hard with the BluBirds , you can just cut it from the point of damage and refix the fittings there and resume work.

Now we are looking for 5 beta-testers for this product.
The first five relevant applicants will be sent samples FOC. We'd expect feedback, of course.
But please mention if you've ever used a field-repairable hose or a push-lock hose or work in environments where the hose gets damaged a lot and you'd need a product such as this. This will help the application.

Id maybe be willing to test it.
It would go onto the production floor.
We manufacture oil based paints. Hoses get covered in paint, resin, solvents.
Even filled on the inside with paint resin and solvents.
Im assuming it just comes with a double ended push lock fitting?
And if it does. Is it stored on the hose somehow or just lose? So it can get lost the secobd you set it down?

Would be willing to try.typically shoot hundreds of thousands of staples and brad nails per year . indoor , clean environment but we do get slap happy & fire nails & staples through the hose , or cut with a circular saw.

have kits in the vans with hose clamps, couplers, splicers , and always an extra hose just in case

Well i was asking if thats how its field repirable. Im assuming thats how.
I dont know about cheaper ones, but the one i have pictured is swagelok and they work extremely well. Never a problem.
Also use them on top quality hoses. Dont know how they work that well on **** hose.
Never used double ear clamps on them .
Or gear clamps.

I would try one out. Work for a small company that does all kind of construction. We get hoses caught or cut all the time. The quick fittings we've tried haven't been so great.

Nailed through a hose up here somehow. Not sure how he did it but we repaired it and kept working.


Different guy snagged one and cut it on this last week.

I'd be interested in trying one out! I've got hundreds of feet of red rubber and my new favorite in the shop is the flexzilla hoses 50' of 1/2 and abought 150' of 3/8 for my feild service its all red rubber Goodyear though real pain in the azz in our Canadian winters though. All my hoses have at least 2 3/8 or 1/2" barb fittings and hose clamps holding them together though always exciting when one lets go over a 100' run id be interested to see how you're new system holds up. I'm getting ready to upgrade my feild hoses to something better 150' 1/2" and 75-100' of 3/8 between flexzilla and im going to do some reading on you're hoses.

All my use is automotive and heavy truck and farm equipment repairs as well as roofing and the odd framing projects I come across id be willing to cover post if that would be a problem to get a hose up to Ontario for testing. Will youre hose repair system work with other brands and materials? I see flexzilla has feild replacable male female ends not sure abought joiners though thanks

If you knew the people around here you would say it's not enough. Boss put up a single line of it last year. Wind twisted it so you couldn't read the word caution. Someone stepped past it and sued.

No contact since. I know I'm not guaranteed anything but I am disappointed that a company doesn't stand behind it's word

This is disappointing to see. I was in on the very first roll out of bluebird hoses, probably 4 years ago. Had excellent communication with the OP, and an excellent product as well. Still in use today. Shame the ship doesn’t seam to be ran the same...

I received my 2 air hoses for beta testing and I'm using the oil guard at the moment it is working well but it kinks very easy and twists. I first put it on the compressor without a quick connect and it twisted up so bad I had to straighten the whole hose to get it out.

Aside from that I love the hose it's light weight and made excellent it's definitely high quality better than my USA made Parker air hoses and it coils very nice and easy as well as straighten out. The second hose is the one for semis in the nice case with accessories it also feels very nice and I will be taking it to the truck shop for beta testing and will get opinions from other guys will also let them check out the oil guard hose as I believe they would really get good use from one like it as it's a very oily place.

Interesting. I sent an email this week about the quick fix and got a response today that said I don’t understand what your asking. Sent a reply explaining the thread on garagejournal that went nowhere yet a newer one had people that received it. We’ll see when the next reply is. I’m not bashing the company, I was excited to try a product which could help work from a company I haven’t tried. I’m not owed anything just upset a company claimed one thing and did another.

Received my hose today, thanks blubird. I really like the swivel fittings on the hose. I wish it was 3/8” so I could use it in the garage. Do you make the fittings in 3/8” and if so are they available for purchase without a hose?

used the hose to nail baseboard & shoe. 1/4is a bit small for us when stapling underlay, we use 3/8 for that.
performance was good. lightweight , flexible and resists kinking . purposely took apart the field repairable portion, cut a few inches off the hose & reassembled easily. note that only 1 end is field repairable, the other end is factory crimped. that can be an issue if you like to swap the hose end for end if you're like me and do that when the hose gets well used ( tool end suffers more abuse than the compressor end) but not a big deal
I'm anxious to see how long the swivel end lasts before leaking , I'm sure it's Oring seal and when that wears it's non replaceable. hopefully that isnt an issue. (they did send a second swivel, but I'm sure that's not part of the deal when buying a hose, just was for this promotion I'm sure.
overall rating,I give it a " better" than Flexilla, not as "nice" as the Tundra brand that Princess Auto used to sell a few years back

Thanks. We have this noted. Haven't got this complaint yet but we will look into it. Flexibility and the light weight does cost something but from our experiences it was as much as there are in regular hoses. But we are already working on it.

Under pressure, of course, it won't kink. But I think you mean without pressure.

Yesterday I received mine, my first impression was how light and soft it is.
It has a smell like solvent.
It looks very good quality is a recommended product.
Now we have to wait to see how it behaves with the passage of time and use.
