Was using mine again today. Still love it. Ultra light and flexible. It's now 40 degrees here (break out the swimsuits!), but even when it was -30 or -40 outside it still performed amazingly. In the next couple of months I'll see how it handles the summer (usually 80-110 degrees here).

I've also had mine since the middle of November when this thread first started. No leaks, no cracks and it still looks brand new. I have confidence that this will be a hose that lasts for a long time.

Anyone that has gotten one from Menards have a comparison against flexzilla?

I looked at them today and was impressed how light it was, but I only need a 25'er

Hi All,

The other products are coming up on Amazon. They've been uploaded and some details are being taken care of. We're starting off with the Air Hose range. 1/4, 3/8, 1/2 in 25, 50, 100' lengths and the hose reel.
They'll be sold and shipped by Amazon and should be up for shipping in 10-20 days.
I'll keep all posted.

Thank you for the interest and the appreciation!

Everyone, we are exhibiting the entire range - with some new RMA Class A oil-resistant BluBird hoses, Jackhammer hoses, field-repairable and, of course, the air and water hoses on the National Hardware Show in Vegas. Come around if you're around, or please pass the info to potential dealers in your area!
Thank you for all the support. Garage Journal has been great.

Hi All,

Just wanted to update you all that the BluBird Air Hoses (a large part of the range) is now available on Amazon.com.

http://www.amazon.com/s/ref=nb_sb_noss_2?url=search-alias=aps&field-keywords=blubird+air+hose

There're the 1/4, 3/8 and 1/2 hoses right now. Larger bores will soon be available. The water hoses will be up within a month as well.

So, if you didn't have access to them yet, now you have the chance to get your hands on what are probably the ultimate air hoses you can buy.
All the sellers on Amazon are either our own warehouse suppliers or our distributors.

The BluBird hose was also reviewed recently:
http://www.vehicleservicepros.com/a...l-ultralight-flexible-blubird-rubber-air-hose

If you've any doubts, please let me know.

Thank you for all the support!

Best

I'm in the market for a hose right now. Looks like a good product to give a try!

FYI: next run of manufacturing, have them fix the spelling of Safety Fector on the front (Amazon picture). I'm like the Rain Man of misspelling. They just show up to me without looking for them. It's a gift and a sickness. :lol_hitti

Oh, I hadn't noticed that!
And I approved those. I checked the 3/8" where it's correct and assumed the spellings would be same across the board. Apparently, they were not. And thanks to you, we are already fixing that. So, thank you!

It looks like now your hose reels are discontinued at Menards? Any info on that?

Agh! I really wanted to have a 50' one today, and looked online. Not available anywhere near me in Missouri, but $14 everywhere else. I have a 25' flexzilla I love but wanted to try this for a 50' and had Menards rebates...

Hrm...

Ten months in, and my 3/8" x 50' hose is performing flawlessly. Oil resistance has been excellent, and the outer cover abrasion resistance is great as well (driven over in automotive shop).

This is my favourite hose of the shop, after using many of the name brands.

Thanks Roze and appreciate your feedback. We are encouraged with your comments and will strive to provide good products in the future. These hoses would soon be available at Princess Auto in Canada along with the new Blubird Oil Shield Air Hose which is a RMA Class A Oil Resistant product while being 50% lighter than other market hoses in this segment. Thanks once again. Rest regards

Hi, all!

Hope you're all doing great.
I just wanted to check for some long(-ish) term feedback on the BluBird air hoses that you've been using. Now that a couple of winters have passed and it's been a while, you guys may have a more fleshed out opinion.
If you've got anything to say, something we need to improve, please share.
Thank you again for all the support.

Any more users able to post updates?

I am not one that received free hoses for testing, I had to buy mine. But I will say that I have had good luck with the Blubird 3/8 air hose. It is very soft in the cold and has held up fairly well over the last 4-5 years since I bought them. Not only did I buy 2 or 3 hoses for my home shop, I talked my boss into buying a bunch of these for the shop at work. We used them outside, year round, even in -20F temps. The ONLY complaint that I heard was one guy thought they were TOO soft. lol. We paid $14.99 for each 50' roll of 3/8 Blubird rubber air hose at Menards, on sale. This was in 2015. I don't work at that company any longer but I'm pretty sure they are still using some of the hose that I picked up for them. That hose has CERTAINLY earned it's keep and owes nothing to me or my former company. If every inch of that hose went in the garbage today, I would still recommend the stuff. Between Flexzilla and Blubird (I have both) I like the Blubird better. Just buy whatever you can get the best deal on between the two brands.... You wont be sorry.

I bought a couple of Bluebird hoses and a 50' hose reel from Menards, I think sometime in 2016, and they have been superb. Durable, no cracking, flexible in any weather, and great flow. They get used and abused, and so far have not suffered any damage.

They're a little dirty on the ends that get used the most, but in general don't seem to pick up dirt quite as badly as other "supple" hose materials.

I don't know whether Bluebird is still in business or what, but the product is fantastic.

For some reason I guess I never clicked submit on my review. I’m current using the bluebirds and they have held up great. Please keep in mind I’m only a night and weekend Warrior. I keep my garage fairly clean but not organized. The bluebird are fairly flexible in lower temperatures compared to my Husky hybrid hose. I can’t tell you how well the hose are resistant to chemicals, since I rarely have oil or other liquids spilled on to my garage floor.

Have one on a reel. Has been fantastic. Zero complaints from me. It also sits in a temperature controlled garage so I have no experience with the cold.

I know I'm dredging up an old thread, but in this case I figured it made more sense than starting a new one.

I'm getting ready to buy two lengths of 3/4" ID AG-Lite hose from HD -- 100' and 150'. BluBird has been good about replying to my emails, which scores them serious points. Very impressive compared to most other companies.

They've answered most of my questions. One thing I'm still curious about is how the Impulse compares to the AG-Lite, other than being heavier. It only has a 1 year warranty, but is almost exactly the same price at HD. My question is, why would anyone buy the Impulse? Is there some advantage that is not mentioned? I am waiting on a reply from them but thought someone here might know.

Another question is, why do they use what appears to be an adapter (with both internal and external threads)? It appears as though the male coupling is small and requires the adapter:

I haven't been able to get ahold of them via phone, and emails are bouncing or not getting returned.

Makes me wonder.....

Just fyi....right after I posted this someone from RMX reached out via email.

Could be consequence or otherwise but they answered my questions in detail.

I'm glad you heard back from them. I've had good luck, other than one delayed response due to an email of mine ending up in their trash folder.

I would have replied here sooner but I'm not getting notices of posts from GJ. I'll have to look into that.

I've been exchanging emails with Neetu who has been very helpful. Her email address is @blubird.com, but they make direct to consumer sales through "TheBlueHose.com".

All else equal I'd be happy to buy from TheBlueHose. Unfortunately, there is a huge price difference between them and Home Depot (HD). TheBlueHose (TBH) is ~$160 more for 2 hoses: both AG-Lite; both 3/4" ID; one 100', the other 150'.

Even if TBH could match/beat the HD price, there's the potential issue of returns. HD is 7 miles down the road, whereas shipping a 30 lb. hose back to the mfr would be expensive (and a hassle). I seriously doubt that TBH pays for warranty returns, but I haven't checked. RMX/BluBird hoses are high quality, and we aren't hard on hoses (even PVC hoses last several years) so I doubt there'd be any reason to return one, but it's a consideration.

I've got the 2 AG-Lite hoses in my cart at HD, waiting to hear back from Neetu...

BTW, Neetu told me the photo (above) that includes an adapter is outdated.

I have not been told what the adapter was for. It appears as though the male hose connector was smaller than normal, and the adapter brought it out to the usual O.D. Maybe the hose served 2 purposes?

Also, Neetu answered the AG-Lite vs Impulse question. She said the Impulse has the same specs but is much heavier and harder to move around. Also:

"The AG-Lite (AL34100) is currently priced at $188.65 for the 3/4" x 100' configuration, while the Impulse (IMPRB34100) is listed at $101.75 for the same length.

This reflects their respective tier positioning and construction refinement."

The reason I was confused is because HD sells the 3/4" x 100' Impulse for ~$114 and the AG-Lite for ~$120, just $6 more. That had/has me wondering why anyone would buy the Impulse.

Follow-up:

The adapter shown in some photos is no longer included. It was to increase the size of the male fitting from the std. 3/4" to 1" for some irrigation systems.

The AG-Lite Hoses come with 2 EPDM O-rings (shown in some photos) instead of washers.

All else equal, I'd buy from TheBlueHose (BluBird) because I appreciate their help, but their prices are just too high -- ~$160 over HD's total for 2 hoses (100' & 150'). It seems that TheBlueHose's pricing is MSRP (although Neetu did not use that term) which is of course typically higher than retail.

Also, as with any purchase, there is a chance (however small) that a warranty return will be necessary. It is unclear from TheBlueHose's return policy whether they would pay for shipping if the hose is truly defective. Returns can be an expensive hassle -- esp with something as bulky and heavy as a 100-150' rubber hose. HD is only 7 miles away, and only 2 miles from the grocery store we go to regularly.

I just ordered 3 AG-Lite hoses from HD: 3/4" x 50, 100, and 150'. Total before tax was ~$360 -- almost $100 less than TheBlueHose wants for just the 100' & 150' hoses!

That said, I do want to give '5 stars' to Neetu at TheBlueHose for her patience and knowledgeable answers to my questions. Customer service like that is very rare these days.

I've seen lately what looks like it's a 1" garden hose fittings on things . infact Princess Auto has a rack of garden hose fittings in their surplus section that looks like this and has bushings. they sell blue bird hoses, maybe they bought their stock :headscrat
