Blue Craftsman Pipe Wrench

My MIL bought a blue 14" Craftsman Pipe wrench for me at an auction a couple of days ago. Paid $2 for it so the price was right. Just curious if someone could give me an idea of age. When did they switch from blue to red?

Ha, ha, . .. sorry about that !

I've got a blue pipe wrench and it's Kobalt that I got as a gift. All my others are Ridgid. Pretty much when you've got red pipe wrench that is quality . . . .it will be Ridgid. Anything blue will be some other brand like Craftsman, Kobalt, etc.

Let's SEE that puppy !!

EDIT: You posted pic while I was typing. That's a nice looking Craftsman if yours is just like it. May even be made by Ridgid.

The pics in post #5 are identical to mine. I am pretty sure new Craftsman pipe wrenches are red.

If yours is the same as those pictures it's pretty old, 1930's-1940's I think.

The one in the pics is exactly like mine, right down to the craftsman emblem. It'll go in the toolbox with everything else and get used. An old tool is just a chunk of metal if it doesn't get used.

Yes, she did. Having USA molded in the handle tells the story. I priced one at Ace last weekend, I think it was Chinese, for $35. It's amazing the deals you can get on tools at auctions.

Welp, mine is blue as well. Not sure why I thought differently.
