So I found one of these for $180 locally and went to check it out. Didn’t have the truck with me so couldn’t bring it home, but it’s being held for me. It’s seen some use, but it’s just going to get used more so the chipping paint and surface rust in a couple areas didn’t sway me. When I get it home I’ll need to figure out getting a key, but my main concern is that the bumper mechanism on the left side did not want to raise and unlock the drawers. It did move slightly when I pushed it down, but didn’t want to raise fully. Anyone replaced one? Just spray some lube down in it and get it to free up that way? I figure worst case scenario I can drill the fasteners out and take it apart.

Looking at the rust on the hinge above it I'd say it's likely there is rust down the channel lube and briskly working it up and down should solve the issue.

Probably. I messed with it for a little bit, but didn’t want to go crazy with it in front of them.

I've had the same cart for years; never lock it. Lots of **** hanging off lid. It has been solid overall.

I’m not too worried about the key especially if it gets put out at my dad’s shop since now he likes to go into my toolbox to use my tools instead of his :ROFLMAO:. I’d like to get one at some point though since they do take spur of the moment trips out of state and he could lock it up when they leave.

Well, I did end up getting it. Turns out a piece of one of the foam drawer liners was stuck in the mechanism causing it to not release. Found a 6mm stud pulling socket and a bunch of other random stuff underneath the drawers. Ended up putting it in our laundry room to get rid of my tiny home box. It’s kinda big for the room, but it frees up the counter space that my old box was on so the wife is really happy with that. It’s not the best box, but for $180 I couldn’t pass it up. I’ll have to post pics once everything is in it and organized.
