Blue Point Cordless Screwdriver Overhaul

I have a Blue point cordless screwdriver that I got several years ago. I have never had a charger. It is a blue point ETBS360.

My plans:
-Replace Batteries
-Relube gear set
-Acquire/create a charger

Resources:
-Snapon Parts
-Battery Information

I disassembled the unit to access the battery pack. The batteries in there are Sanyo HL KR-1200SCTL's. They are three 1.2 volt NICAD batteries. The gear set seems to be in good shape (no missing teeth or obvious concerns).

Any electronic guru's on here have a recommended place to acquire batteries or should I just order the $45 pack from snap-on?

Snapon does not list a charger, any recommendations on how to go about procuring/creating one? I do have some electronic experience, so even a general guide would be cool if it comes to creating one. 3.2 volt NiCad battery charger.

Any recommendations on lubrication for the gear set? The lube in there feels like it has a consistency of lithium or silicone paste but has the color of wheel bearing grease.

Thinking of adding a single forward facing LED which Would illuminate when the momentary switch was activated in either direction

Thanks in advance guys.
Sean

PS I'll try to take some pictures tomorrow.

I think radio shack has the batteries or hobby stores for cheap....no problem

Find any nicad 3.2v charger and adapt it to connect to the battery you have and it will work or look online for a used charger

If you can't find or setup the charger....stop there and don't spend any more money

I believe radio shack has a universal 6v 300mA charger that I can snag and adapt for the cause. So I am hopeful that issue is solved. Thanks for the tips guys.

I am working on trying to find the specs for my original batteries so that my replacements can be properly selected.
