Blue Point Date Code

I have this old Blue Point Boxocket XD-1922 wrench, plain finish, the only mark I see is what looks like two I's inside the little depression. Is that the date code? It doesn't seem to match anything.

Might be an "E" (1944). I have seen some deep ones look something like that.
