I searched for this cart specifically but didn't find anything.

Here's a link to the cart I'm looking at.

When I did a little bit of work as a tech at a friends shop I used a cart like this and it was perfect. It held all of the things I used frequently and the shop had anything else I might need. With the shop I work in right now I really need to be able to lock my box so I need an enclosed lower shelf or it's a waste of space. I love this BP cart but it's on the spendy side for me so I need it to be worth it. I'm mostly concerned that the gimmicks built into it are something to **** fools like me into purchasing it. I don't really want to go the more traditional top and bottom box configuration but I feel like I might have to. Thoughts and or recommendations?

a cart is a great way to start. i started with the same one i use now which is a KRBC10TB (basicly an older version of this http://buy1.snapon.com/catalog/item...group_ID=19340&store=snapon-store&dir=catalog). once you fill that, then get a cab (or another cart like i did for a year or so). the nice thing about a cart is you can take it with you all over the shop, mine holds 90% of what i need for most all the jobs i do. also ive had mine for 6-7 years, and it still works perfect in every way.

the cart your looking at looks likes a good place to start. it has the closed bottom you want, the drawers can hold most of your tools, and the side work area and can holder is nice to have (mine has it too). the reel and trash can are kinda gimmicks, but for the price, you better get as many gimmicks as you can. for the price point, it seams good to me atleast.

I'm heartened to get a check in the "pro" column.

I see a lot of people like to purchase their gear from HF. I haven't checked there for a cart in the style I'm after but the prices are clearly competitive. It seems deciding between more expensive tool storage and something from HF is mostly a personal decision.

Do you think I will regret spending more on this cart when there are cheaper solutions elsewhere?

Harbor Freight doesn't offer a full length dwr option in the cart so there is no apples to apples, so you either buy the 4 or 5 HF dwr cart and fab up your own bottom locked storage area or move on and up to the "big boy big price" tools from the truck sadly.

I see a lot of production floor people I know start with the 4 or 5 dwr lift lid carts and then move up to the larger and wider lift lid carts that look and act like lift lid or slide lid roll cabs. lf they outgrow that, they get a ful on roll cab, but still use the cart as the mobile work station.

It really is a battle between mobility and size restraints vs. tool storage needs and growth. And only really you can answer what you need or want to grow into.

From a business and money standpoint, that's a cart that is not likely to hold a tone of value if sold in my eyes, mainly because of the mkt. being flooded with cheap ones and I doubt many folks will want step up to pay that much more just because of the full length dwr. setup.

If in a hurry, you need what you need.

I do see quite a few SO full dwr carts from my SO (and other) drivers as guys move up to full roll cabs and I see a few like carts on Craigslist, so buying used may be an option as well.

Good luck.

Its a good cart, a tech that worked with me a while back used one for his "diagnostic cart" storing scanner, scope, probes, jumper wires etc... May not have been the same model but the the same general layout.

I use a blue point KRBC10 or the old version as my srevice cart and I can get alot of stuff in that cart with a little organization and use the open bottom for chains, bungee cords, vaccum hoses etc.... If you need to lock up and dont have a roll cab then the lower drawer will be great.

If you get a roll cab at a later point it will make a great service cart.
