Blue Point Ratcheting Wrenches

I've bought a few of these Blue Point ratcheting wrenches off of eBay and I came across a seller who claimed he had some new updated ones so I bought the 10 and 11mm ones of him to try them out (Great) Then I went to the Snap On site and typed in the part number of the new wrenches and came up empty

Part numbers are: BOERMSPM10 AND BOERMSPM11


My other gear wrenches have the BOERM part number only


Anyone know something about these wrenches?

The reversing mechanism is different, I think. I have several snap-on catalogs, and apprently none of them are at home, so I can't look 'em up.

The reversing mechanism looks different. I looked at the photo that you posted of the wrenches on your other thread. The top four have a typical gearwrench selestor, whereas the bottom wrenches have a push-button selector switch very similar to the models at Harbor Freight. I cannot find a link to them right now, but I have seen them in the store. I think that I have seen this style on some SK ratcheting wrenches too (specifically, their spline wrenches).

I was actually quite impressed with the blue point ratcheting wrenches. I need to find REVERSIBLE flex heads, and so far blue point is the only one that has them. Too bad I cant find a price online

I have never seen that type of reversing mechanism as the two wrenches in the photo of the tools you bought off ebay. Also on the flex heads gearwrenches I don't think it would be a good thing to be reversible. If you are using in a tight spot with it and near wires or other obstructions I think it will reverse when you don't want it. I am very happy with gearwrench brand and they have saved alot of time working on things when nothing else will fit.

Why can't you just flip the thing over and bend it the same way? That's whay I do, and they work great.

Flex ratcheting wrenches are the best for really weird spots. You know, places where you'd bump the lever a lot and they'd end up in 'neutral'...

Eh, I suppose. In that case Id get the Craftsmans because they are made here and I know those hold up well. I never really saw a need until the other day doing shocks on a jeep cherokee. the top stud is RIGHT under the MC and it would have taken like 15 minutes to tighten with a normal wrench, and I obviously couldnt get a socket in there. This saved me a ton of time and its on my list of thing to buy. Ive got 100$ to sears so I might pick the metric set up

I have that metric set and the nice thing about them is that you can lock them at any angle you want.

I have a set of the standard Blue Points and noticed some problems locating individuals on the website when I broke one early on. They were in the printed catalog. I think it's just a matter of not having every part number loaded in their online system. I have noticed that in a few other cases besided wrenches.
