They don't seem to be anything special. There are nicer screwdrivers to be had for less money - almost anywhere. Witte, Wera, Facom....

Well, according to this, that set of screwdrivers plus a set of mini pleirs is a $134.** value:

Each of those screwdrivers purchased individually runs around $10 each. Knowing that, I would make another choice.

A screwdriver with a hole in the handle is worthless to me.
I have good Snap-On soft grip screwdrivers...but I have had to use my cheaper screwdrivers (with a hole in the handle) on occasion when I need to stick another screwdriver in the handle to twist the whole thing, like a t-handle. Usually happens when I stick a big flathead somewhere it shouldn't be and it gets clamped between two pieces of metal, requiring twisting to pull it straight out.

See, that is one of those statements that just doesn't make sense to me. What difference does it make whether or not there is a hole in the handle?

I've got a couple of those German WITTE screwdrivers with the hole in the handles. When I wrap my hand around the handle and squeeze, my pinky finger tries to go inside that hole; it bugs the hell out of me! Suffice to say, I've never used the damn things ... maybe just once to remove a door lock; after that, I put them into retirement.

:wtf: Sounds like operator error. I have never gotten any body part caught in any of the holes in any of my tools. EVER.

And there goes my "stinky screwdriver handle theory"...

The only notable ergonomic issue I have encountered is with my old Makita reciprocating saw. It is a variable-speed JR3000V.

It has a trigger lock button on the left side of the handle. Being that I am left-handed, when I use the saw, my hand tends to depress the button.

When I let go of the trigger, it keeps running. It could be catastrophic, but I am aware of the issue and act accordingly.:dunno:

b.t.w.- The Acesa wrench that I own was made in Spain. I don't know about the screwdrivers.

Looks like just another funky fad designed ergo screwdriver to me! I turn my nose up at it! I even like my old original blue and red craftys better than any driver with an odd handle shape! (BTW, Have I shared that I am slow to accept change!)

Assuming they don't acquire magical properties when the Spanish factory changes the die from 'Acesa' to 'Blue Point', that price is laughable.

8 piece Wiha set of at least equal quality: $40

For $75 you could have the Wiha set purpose designed for auto use (These are awesome in oily conditions.)

I didn't know that, I also have a set of those. Unfortunately I never got around to buying a matching set of SO phillips when I was single and could afford them so I do not have them, I am lucky enough to have a mismatched hodge podge of Snappy and Mac phillips drivers in assorted sizes lengths etc. So in actuality I do have the good stuff in phillips, just not a matched set of them! I also have a few drivers in the odd colors like lime green, yellow, fortunately no hot pink!

Funny I think this way about almost all the German screwdrivers except the Witte and fello wood hanled stuff. OP I just bought these screwdrivers even though I already have a Snap On set instinct hard handle. In fact despite what people on here say I bought them just for the snazzy grip. Besides anyone with a Snap On man has some blue point in their collection unless they are a SUPERSNOBB!LOL take care.

+1 on that! I absolutely HATE the "ergo" handles regardless of maker. I've got a set of "cheap" Urrea drivers that are second only to the old Macs for comfort and grip.
