Yep, I knew I'd seen it before.

Those are made in Taiwan and you'll find them at the ATD tools site. I've got one - it's a strong strut spring compressor. Wait a minute ... I think they may be wrong on their COO. :shocking:

You'd think the piece that the spring lays in would be a tad thicker? I've never seen one span, but if it did that is where it would snap.

I was as surprised as you. My last Snap on spring compressor was made offshore as well, but it is still going strong.

Familiar to what (throw me a bone here! :) )?

The "acme threaded rod" in MSC2 looks the same right down to the washers and the COO is Taiwan. It's maddening!

I would've rather had one made in USA too, but I figured since there was no such thing available, I might as well get it for as cheap as I can. Incidentally, the first time I used one was when I rented one from Autozone; I was rather impressed with it.

I've got this one...works well, but sometimes can be a pain to get all the hardware in place.

The one above looks like it would take a couple seconds to mount.

^ ^ ^ I like the way that one stands out away from the spring. The ATD type gets a little too close to the coils sometimes.
