Thanks, yes it is very nice. I cant seem to find any like this on the interweb or any info about about it. Year produced, value.Really nice.
(That is a TAP and die set.)
Hello again. Can anyone help with an appraisal for this tool and die set to find out its worth. Thx
Yes they are NC/NF. I don’t see any HSS markings on any tap or die etc. I’m assuming Blue Note is a good make (early snap on perhaps) The wooden case has dovetailed ends, in relatively good shape with a couple subtle marks. I don’t see any marking for HSS so I’m assuming carbon steel. Two dies replaced different make and two small ones are cracked in half. The rest all good. I looked at a page you recommended to get an idea on price. Theres a HSS set similar to mine in pieces made by GTD for 2395.90. But since mine is Carbon steel and used would be less, about 800..opinion? And thx 4 help.
Once you goto the above link then goto the big book page link from there
I would suggest that you goto the MSC page above and find a set that that has your size range and use that price as top dollar new. I would guess that your set is NC-NF or coarse and fine threads. Also try to determine if your set is carbon steel or HSS as that makes a difference in value. They should be marked HSS if they are. Once you determine that then I'd go 1/3 to 1/2 the price from MSC.
