There is a bluepoint top/bottom combo on craigslist for $500. He's 2 hours away. It looks 27" wide and 18" deep. Is his price fair? Are thee blue points made in the USA? Thanks.

I picked up this box at the flea for $75; it seems to be built a little on the light side and the sliders are not the best quality, it says that it is made in Canada on the sticker. The front flexes from left to right but the tack welds look like they are possibly broken from a impact, shipping damage or usage by monkeys; I've come to the conclusion it is probably 80s vintage. Not a bad box but certainly not normal Snap-On quality; these were sold to the government and packaged in "apprentice tool kits". I would look at it to see if it is good quality; there are some crazy cheap deals out there for better boxes... keep your eyes peeled! :)

I think the Blue-Point boxes are made in Canada by some unknown Mfg. They're homely looking boxes IMO.

Homely or not they are used to store and keep your tools safe, if I was offered a Blue Point box at that price I'd jump on it.

Is there something wrong with boxes made in Canada? I have 2 Beech boxes that are 28 years old that I bought new, there isn't a spot of rust anywhere on them and never had a problem with them since.

That box is small, i wouldn't pay 500$ it, despite me bugging merk about his standards. earlier. you would be better off with on of those HF boxes every one is raving about. At least it is new and bigger.

I bought that model new, plus a 54 incher, and they say on the ser# stickers that they are made in Canada. The slides are marked with the SO logo.I was happy with the quality. My top was 20 deep x 30 wide,so it was not a standard size.I didn't like how the top compartment had the front panel going all the way across in front, making you have to reach over the panel to grab a socket,so I sliced the front panel to match my KRA 4000 unit,so you can reach right in,without going over the panel.I ordered the same rubber edge trim to make it a perfect match. Also put in the gas struts and tubular lock to make it a match.Looked pretty neat.I ended up trading it off, though.

I didn't like the blue trim on the drawers, and I found that the blue is just a decal-film that can be peeled of,and its black underneath that looked way better,I thought.

Here is a pic of what the 54 inch model looks like. They can be dressed up to look nice.I like the aluminum trim look better.
