Picked up this Blue Snap on double bay with hutch couple of weeks ago. Got some tools with it. The hutch door was hard to open and would not stay open. I knew something was wrong with the spring tension but had never played with one before. Figured it needed more tension. After looking at it for a while and trying to unbolt the spring and winding it tighter, (fail😆) I removed one bolt in each geared track, loosened the other and slid the track out of the way.

The axle had a hole drilled through it for sticking a screwdriver through and turning the axle against the spring. Added more tension and rebolted the track. Made it worse. Seems the previous owner wound it backwards. Removed track, wound it the proper way and it worked.

Pics of the spring and tracks

Not overly impressed by the hutch door track system. Its noisy and not overly smooth.

Tried a buddy's hutch door and it works the same as mine, so I don't think it's something I did
