Have a cube frame with netting stapled to it to put over some blueberry plants to keep birds out. It is about a 6 - 7 feet cube. First year I made it from big box store 1 x 2. The wood was junk and fell apart The second time I made it from some 3/4" artificial wood like used in landscaping. Worked great until the summer sun hit it on a 100F+ day, then it folded over. Recommendations please on what wood might not immediately rot and still hold strong when screwed together. I have to be able to lift this thing up onto a 4' wall and over the plant so nothing really heavy will work. I thought about commissioning an aluminum frame but these plants may get bigger so I may need to do it again larger in a couple years. Also I did consider a PVC frame but I can't staple the netting to it.
